When is WoW Dragonbane Keep up?

Like many of the world events Blizzard introduced with Dragonflight, rather than just being a quest you can smash through at your leisure, ‘Siege on Dragonbane Keep’ is only available at certain times of the day. Specifically, Dragonbane Keep is on a two hour loop, with a warhorn icon on the world map indicating how long you have left to wait.

The timer has two phases, “The Obsidian Outcasts are gathering. The siege will begin soon,” which means you still have a lengthy wait until you can participate, and “The Obsidian Outcasts are attempting to take Dragonbane Keep. Assistance is requested,” meaning Dragonbane Keep is live, and you’ll have to fly to the event site quickly to take part before it’s over.

If the timer instead reads, “The siege is over, and the keep is controlled by the Obsidian Outcasts” you’ll have just missed it and have to wait for the next event to roll around.

Where is the WoW Dragonbane Keep event?

The Siege on Dragonbane Keep can be found in the Waking Shores, the northernmost zone of the Dragon Isles and the one in which you began your Dragonflight journey. The event site can be found south of the Obsidian Citadel, beginning on the road just to the east of the Apex Observatory flight path seen on the world map.

As you fly over the area, look for the burly black dragonflight dragonkin called Boss and the hefty dragon-frog swoghorn Beef, who will be sitting patiently hitched up to a cart that he will begin to pull when the event begins. The event site can get very busy when the timer is close, so if you can’t see these NPCs then just look for the hoard of players meandering in the area.

Once you’ve completed Dragonflight’s Siege on Dragonbane Keep, you’ll have time to check out the WoW Mists of Pandaria Remix limited-time event, get ready for the WoW Classic Cataclysm launch date, or prepare for World of Warcraft’s next expansion by learning how to sign up to the WoW War Within beta.
