Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has got a new gameplay trailer, further exploring the game’s themes of resistance and acquiescence to occupying forces – but without taking itself too seriously, of course. An angry, bearded lunatic headbutts a table and we borrow a boat from an amorous couple.
Missed the latest news? Here’s everything we know about Wolfenstein 2: the New Colossus.
The trailer opens with ranks of Nazis goose-stepping in formation, before a battered Stars and Stripes transitions into a Swastika flag.
“America? I guess they don’t have the fightin’ spirit no more,” says Grace Walker, a tough-talking resistance leader from New York. She’ll help traditional protagonist BJ Blazkowicz restore that fighting spirit and foment a new American revolution.
Then there are the expected action-packed gameplay clips in which BJ administers a thorough pasting to Nazis, Nazi robots, and Nazi robot dogs, with an improbably large gun in each hand. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launches on October 27.
