Sniper Elite 4’s 101 trailer shows there’s more to the game than just nut shots

Sniper Elite 4

Whenever a Sniper Elite games comes out, I get weirdly excited about popping testicles from 500 meters. However, despite that incredible selling point, there’s a bit more to this sniping simulation than just blowing off balls.

Can you punch a Nazi? This question has been floating around social media this past week or so, and Sniper Elite 4 says yes. Yes you can punch a Nazi. In fact, in Sniper Elite 4, you can palm strike a Nazi so hard that his chin shatters in glorious X-ray vision.

You can also snipe Nazis from a good distance. When that fails, you can pull them over a ledge to their death. When you’re done with that, you can lure them into a trip-mine.

There are so many ways to punish Nazis in Sniper Elite 4’s Italian sandbox that it’s almost greedy. Your fists will be aching by the end of it all.

The game even introduces some new mechanics outside of those flashy melee finishers. Supersonic ammo will let you pick off Nazis without their Nazi mates hearing you, though you can still time your normal shots with passing planes, mortar fire, thunder claps, and more, if you’re out of sneaky bullets.

Elsewhere, you can take out high ranking officers and steal their log books. This allows you to see where every single Nazi in their command is stationed, giving you the upper hand. You can even turn Nazi mortar flares against them, calling in strikes on their own convoys.

Check out the trailer above for a look at all that, as well as some multiplayer action.

Sniper Elite 4 is out on February 14.
