Eve Online-inspired FPS Project Nova is definitely still in development

Project Nova

Project Nova is very much still happening. The first-person shooter, inspired by the Eve Online universe and acting as something of a successor to the abandoned PS3-shooter Dust 514, is still being worked on by CCP.

We got hands-on with Project Nova to discover how it swaps the expanse of Eve for tight PC shooting.

Project Nova was announced last year, but we haven’t heard much about it since then. As far as we know, it’s a performance-heavy, corridor-based FPS, which will be set within Eve’s universe, but CCP have been deliberately secretive about development since the game was announced.

On Friday, however, CCP’s CEO, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, confirmed that the studio is “heads-down working on the game.” He also said that while CCP have deliberately been keeping fans in the dark up until now, more information would be on its way in the coming weeks.

Pétursson also confirmed that Sumo Digital were working with CCP on the game. The Sheffield-based studio has recently worked on the Little Big Planet series, as well as Crackdown 3 and Hitman.
