Overwatch League player terminated after allegations of sexual misconduct with 14-year-old

Overwatch League

Update, April 9: The Boston Uprising have ended their contract with Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez.

Both the Overwatch League and Boston Uprising issued statements saying that Jonathan “DreamKapzer” Sanchez had been suspended following allegations that the player had engaged in sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old fan. The suspension was indefinite pending an investigation from both organisations.

Less than 24 hours later, Boston Uprising have confirmed via Twitter that they have terminated Sanchez’s contract.

Original story, April 9: Overwatch League player Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez has been indefinitely suspended from the Overwatch League after chat messages that are apparently between him and a 14-year-old fan were shared on Twitter.

Both the Overwatch League and Boston Uprising tweeted statements saying that they are aware of allegations against Sanchez and that he is “suspended indefinitely” pending investigation.

The allegations stem from a collection of (currently unverified) screenshots, and a post stating that Sanchez, who is 21, engaged in a series of conversations with a 14-year-old fan, some of which were of a sexual nature. The post and one of the screenshots suggest Sanchez was aware of the fan’s age during the conversations.

Sanchez plays DPS for Boston Uprising, who are currently fourth in the Overwatch League standings, with a 14-8 record. Both Uprising and the League are investigating the allegations. Sanchez is yet to release a public statement.
