Factorio getting a price bump as it prepares to leave early access

Factorio

You’ve got a couple more weeks to pick up Factorio, the game about building massive machine building networks and fighting hordes of alien bugs, before the price goes up permanently.

Here’s our list of the best simulation games on the PC.

In an update posted Friday, Wube Software say Factorio version 0.16 is now stable, and that 0.17 will likely become the 1.0 version of the game. That means Factorio will be leaving Steam’s Early Access after six years of development.

It also means the game will be getting a permanent price increase, from the $20 USD charged for the current Early Access version to $30, effective April 16. Wube has said throughout development that they won’t be putting the game on sale or offering it in bundles, so once the price goes up, it’s up for good.

The good news is that you can try the free demo before you decide whether to buy.
