Bungie detail Destiny 2 roadmap – public text chat and vault space increases are coming

Bungie have offered a brief outline of their plans for Destiny 2 in the coming months. The roadmap begins with the recently-deployed January updates and leads all the way to a “new season of content” in May.

Here’s what you need to know about the current Iron Banner event.

The February 27 update will notably include the long-demanded public text chat on PC, but it’s apparently an “opt-in” feature. That’s in-line with Bungie’s stated desire to avoid the toxicity that comes along with public chat channels, but sidesteps the reasons why the community wanted the feature in the first place.

The May update includes a vault space increase, as well as the prestige mode for Eater of Worlds. If you’re wondering why the latter addition will take so long, Bungie’s DeeJ says “this is a question the Raid Team will answer soon.”

More details on what’s coming will start being detailed tomorrow, with more information to follow “in the coming weeks.”
