When is the Black Ops 6 beta? As sure as the sun rises and sets each day, a new Call of Duty installation is almost guaranteed for each new year and, with, it, a few days of multiplayer early access. Following the reveal of Black Ops 6, we want to know when the BO6 beta is taking place, and we’re sure you do too.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was first teased towards the end of May, and within two weeks we saw the FPS game’s official reveal at Summer Game Fest 2024. Earlier rumors of a Gulf War themed Call of Duty were proved right, and the Black Ops 6 release date takes us back to the 1990s. There’s more on that in our main guide, but read on to find out what we know so far about the Black Ops 6 beta.

Black Ops 6 beta release date speculation

We expect the Black Ops 6 open beta take place between September 28 – 30, 2024, explained below. Based on the dates of previous Call of Duty multiplayer beta launches, the beta will almost certainly take place some time in September.

Looking back at Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward’s FPS was released on November 10, 2023. The PlayStation-exclusive beta weekend took place five weeks earlier during October 6 – 7, with the crossplay beta following pm a week later from October 12 – 13.

This logic would place a PC beta on September 28. It’s important to note that the main reason this pattern could change would be the lack of console-exclusive betas this year. A PS-exclusive beta took place before others in previous years, so this could mean that all platforms get access earlier this year. A leak supposedly shows the beta is taking place during August 28 – September 3.

The reason behind this change is that Microsoft now owns Activision, and the console giant has confirmed there will be no more console-exclusive Call of Duty content. This means the PlayStation-exclusive betas are finally over, potentially to be replaced with a closed cross-platform beta period. The next COD Next takes place on August 28, during which we will likely receive confirmation of the beta dates, rewards, and content.

Black Ops 6 pre-order early access

We already know that players who pre-order the game gain early access to the Black Ops 6 beta — again, the same as in previous years. Beta early access is confirmed by Activision as one of the benefits of pre-ordering the game, and terms and conditions can be found here.

Again, no dates are confirmed, but early access for pre-orders usually begins two days early, on the Thursday rather than the Saturday. If our above calculations are correct, then, this would place the Black Ops 6 early access beta on September 26.

How to get access to the Black Ops 6 beta

The Black Ops 6 beta will be open to everyone, while beta early access is only available to those who have pre-ordered the game. Pre-order the game on any official platform, and you will receive a redemption code close to the start of the beta.

Once you have received your code, enter it at callofduty.com/betaredeem while logged into the Call of Duty account you wish to play on. You will be able to download and play the beta when the time comes.

That’s all we know about the Black Ops 6 beta right now, but we’ll add dates as soon as we hear them — trust us, we’re as excited as you are. While you wait, why not spend some time in the newest Warzone season and get some shooting practice in, or find out more about the Black Ops 6 safe house, your base of operations in the new game.
